The Long House was built in 1901 by John D. Long, a pioneer settler of the Renton area. The house was originally a two-story frame structure with a porch that ran the length of the front of the house. In 1911, a third story was added to the house and the porch was enclosed. The Long family lived in the house until 1959, when it was donated to the city of Renton.
